چکیده

The existence and uniqueness of adapted solutions to the backward stochastic Navier-Stokes equationwith artificial compressibility in two-dimensional bounded domains are shown byMintyBrowder monotonicity argument, finite-dimensional projections, and truncations. Continuity of the solutions with respect to terminal conditions is given, and the convergence of the system to an incompressible flow is also established.

An Enhanced Flux Treatment in Solving Incompressible Flow in a Forward-Facing Step

The aim of this paper is to give a detailed effect of several parameters such as step height, Reynolds number, contraction ratio, and temperature difference between the entrance and solid boundaries, of a forward-facing step. An accurate length of separation and reattachment zones are achieved. A finite-volume method (FVM) has been developed to study incompressible flow in a forward-facing step...

Numerical Solution of an Unsteady Flow Using Artificial Compressibility Method

The work presents an artificial compressibility method applied to incompressible Navier-Stokes equations for steady as well as for unsteady flows. Two modifications of unsteady numerical solution by an implicit finite volume method are considered. First one uses large artificial compressibility parameter and the iterative solution approximates unsteady evolution of flow. The second approach int...

Incompressible laminar flow computations by an upwind least-squares meshless method

In this paper, the laminar incompressible flow equations are solved by an upwind least-squares meshless method. Due to the difficulties in generating quality meshes, particularly in complex geometries, a meshless method is increasingly used as a new numerical tool. The meshless methods only use clouds of nodes to influence the domain of every node. Thus, they do not require the nodes to be conn...

A Dispersive Approach to the Artificial Compressibility Approximations of the Navier Stokes Equations in 3-d Donatella Donatelli and Pierangelo Marcati

In this paper we study how to approximate the Leray weak solutions of the incompressible Navier Stokes equation. In particular we describe an hyperbolic version of the so called artificial compressibility method investigated by J.L.Lions and Temam. By exploiting the wave equation structure of the pressure of the approximating system we achieve the convergence of the approximating sequences by m...

Finite Volume Solution of a Cylinder in Cross Flow with Heat Transfer

A finite-volume model has been developed to study incompressible forced flow heat transfer of air over a circular cylinder in cross flow. An artificial compressibility technique is applied to couple the continuity to the momentum equations. The proposed explicit finite-volume method (FVM) uses a novel discretization in time and space. The governing equations are solved by time-marching using a ...
